At Cleotalk (owned by Effortless PoD), we prioritize the privacy and security of your data. Because Cleotalk is a self-hosted WordPress plugin, your conversational data, knowledge base documents, and configuration credentials remain entirely on your own server.

1. Information Collected by the Plugin

The Cleotalk plugin runs locally on your WordPress installation and does not transmit data to external Cleotalk servers, with the following exceptions:

AI Provider APIs: To generate AI responses, the plugin sends text queries to your configured LLM providers (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Groq, DeepSeek) using the API keys you provide. This data transmission is direct between your server and the AI providers, subject to their respective privacy policies.
License Verification: If you are using a Pro license, the plugin periodically validates your license key against Cleotalk Cloud servers. This request includes your domain, site ID, license key, and general usage statistics (e.g. number of conversations, messages, and tokens) to enforce usage limits.

2. Data Storage

All chats, conversation logs, vectors/indexes, customer satisfaction feedback, and configuration settings are stored securely inside your WordPress database. We do not have access to your database, your API keys, or your chats.

3. Security

Your API keys are stored in your database encrypted using AES-256 encryption. We employ industry-standard security measures within the plugin codebase to prevent Prompt Injection, SQL Injection, SSRF (Server-Side Request Forgery), and unauthorized REST API access.

4. Third-Party Services

When utilizing Cleotalk, you connect to third-party LLMs. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies and data retention agreements of OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, and DeepSeek to understand how they handle queries processed through their APIs.
